Anantnag: Seeking Statehood and restoration of the democratic process in J&K, Congress Working Committee Member (CWC) Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Saturday advised the BJP Govt to respect public aspirations.

Mir also said that J&K must get its elected Govt without any further delay to put an end to Bureaucratic rule which has led to disappointment among the public.

CWC Member was addressing Party workers of Anantnag Town at Khanabal in Anantnag District of South Kashmir where he blamed the BJP Govt for abandoning people of their democratic rights, terming the move deliberate and politically motivated. “People are confronted with tremendous hardships, there is no accountability in the administration, and no one is ready to hear or address public issues, but in response, the Govt is trying to satisfy people only by hollow promises and tall claims with regard to development and prosperity, which is nowhere to be seen.”

“Making tall claims day in and day out has become a new normal in J&K, but the reality is that the public has been rendered speechless and unable to seek a resolution of their genuine issue, the matter of the fact remains the Bureaucratic setup is not even ready to listen to public grievances and their redressal has become a distant dream,” Mir added.

Mir told the workers that the Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will defeat the BJP’s deceitful strategies and its anti-people policies and will ensure change for which the Nation is yearning given the disappointment, loot of public money, extreme employment, unprecedented price hike and economic backwardness in the country. He said BJP RSS can go to any extent for the lust of power, but they are set to face a humiliating defeat in the coming days.

CWC Member reiterated Congress Party’s demands for restoration of democratic process and Statehood to J&K, as that will only address the discontentment and disappointment among the public.

On this occasion, Mir made a fervent appeal to the public to support the Congress Party in its endeavor to bring change in J&K which is witnessing its darkest era under BJP rule.

Those who addressed the meeting included, DCC Presidents Ali Mohd Mantoo, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, PCC Secretary Mohd Iqbal Mir, DDC Bilal Ahmad Deva, Zaffar Farooq Salati, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah, Danish Khan, Mohd Asif Bhat, Gowhar Khan, and others.
