Director Libraries reviews arrangements for I-Day celebrations by DL&R

SRINAGAR: A meeting of the officers and officials of the Department of Libraries & Research was convened under the chairmanship of the Director of Libraries & Research, Mohammad Rafi here today to finalize the arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day – 2023 by the Department.

The Deputy Director of Libraries & Research Kashmir, Assistant Director of Libraries & Research Kashmir, and Chief & District Librarians from Jammu and Kashmir divisions attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the main events regarding the celebration of Independence Day – 2023 by the Department will be organized at SPS Library Srinagar and SRS Library Jammu.

The Director of Libraries & Research said that all I/Cs of Public Libraries, including Central and District Libraries, shall ensure the hoisting of the National Flag at the respective Public Libraries ensuring strict adherence to the set protocol (Flag Code & Order of Precedence).

He said all officers and officials of the Department shall actively participate in the “Meri Mitti, Mera Desh” campaign as also in other celebrations under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” including “Tiranga Yatras”.

He asked the I/Cs of District Libraries to coordinate with the respective District Administrations and ensure active participation of the Department in all the events to be organized by the respective District Administrations in connection with the Independence Day – 2023 celebrations.

Instructions were issued to all I/Cs of Central and District libraries to arrange illumination of the respective Library buildings on the eve of Independence Day – 2023.

It was also decided that I/Cs of Public Libraries shall organize special book exhibitions at the respective libraries in connection with the Independence Day – 2023 celebrations to highlight India’s freedom struggle.
