Chief Justice visits child care institutions ‘Palaash’, ‘Pareesha’ at Nishat

SRINAGAR: Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, visited “Palaash” (Children Home for Boys) and “Pareesha” (Children Home for Girls) at Nishat here today evening and took stock of facilities being provided for the well-being of children.

During the visit, the Chief Justice also held one to one interaction with the inmates of these institutions.

The interaction between the Chief Justice and the children mirrored his commitment to fostering a society that nurtures and empowers its younger generation. The Chief Justice on the occasion engaged deeply with the children which reflected his genuine interest in their well-being, aspirations, and dreams.

During the interaction, the children of both ‘Palaash’ and ‘Pareesha’ expressed satisfaction with the facilities and amenities that are being provided to them.

Reflecting on the visit, the Chief Justice said, “These homes are nurturing grounds for the future torchbearers of our Nation.” He added that the children’s performances today exude resilience and hope, reminding us of the profound responsibility we bear in shaping their destinies.

Interacting with the management of these institutions, the Chief Justice emphasized upon the collaborative effort required to create an environment where every child’s potential is nurtured and celebrated. He appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare Department in carrying out the mandate of the JJ Act and the rules framed there under.

The visit of the Chief Justice epitomized compassion and commitment toward the betterment of children residing in such institutions. The Chief Justice meticulously observed the amenities and services provided to the children and his keen attention to detail exemplified his dedication to ensuring that these homes offer an environment where children can thrive emotionally, educationally, and socially.

During the visit, to commemorate the 75 years of Indian Independence, the children of both institutions showcased their remarkable performances with patriotic songs. Their melodious voices echoed with patriotism and pride, as they paid homage to the nation’s journey through the decades.

Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, M.K. Sharma; Secretary, High Court Legal Services Committee, Prem Sagar; DSWO, Srinagar, Superintendent of ‘Palaash’, Superintendent of ‘Pareesha’ and other concerned officers also accompanied the Chief Justice during the visit.
