RTO Kashmir meets transporters in Bandipora

BANDIPORA: Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari Saturday conducted a visit to Bandipora district and interacted with local transporters and gain firsthand insights into their challenges and grievances.

The RTO met with representatives from various transport associations, including taxi operators, truck owners, and bus drivers among others.

On the occasion, the transporters raised different concerns and shared valuable feedback on the existing transportation infrastructure and regulatory practices with the chair.

The issues related to road conditions, licensing procedures, permits, and taxation policies were also raised with the chair.

The RTO patiently listened to concerns raised, taking diligent notes and assuring the transporters that their issues and grievances will be given due consideration in future policy-making decisions.

On the occasion, RTO informed the participants about steps being taken by the Kashmir transport department to improve infrastructure, streamline licensing procedures, and optimize the taxation system.

ARTO Bandipora, Bilal Ahmad Mir said that transporters play a crucial role in shaping our policies and regulations. He said that the department is dedicated to fostering a transparent and responsive system that benefits both the transporters and the general public

Meanwhile, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari along with Assistant Commissioner Shabir Ahmad and ARTO Bandipora Bilal Ahmad Mir on the occasion flagged off a vehicle rally to create awareness among people regarding the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.

Among others, the event was attended by officers from the ARTO office in Bandipora, presidents of Sumo, Bus stands, and the president truck association Bandipora among other transporters across the district.
