Three persons booked under PSA for in Baramulla, Bandipora

Srinagar: Police have booked three persons under Public Safety Act in Baramulla and Bandipora, while a “notorious” drug smuggler was booked under PIT-NDPS Act, police spokesman informed Thursday.

In Baramulla, one Tanveer Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Rashid of Taripora Sheeri was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his involvement in “anti-national activities” after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The booked person has been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail Kathua, spokesman said.

In Bandipora, police booked two persons under PSA. The duo identified as Hilal Ahmad Parray, son of Ghulam Ahmad Parray of Kochak Mohalla Hajin, and Abdul Hameed Parray, son of Ghulam Nabi Parray of Syed Mohalla Hajin were subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Balwal, Jammu.

Moreover, in Baramulla a “notorious” drug smuggler — Irfan Rasool Lone alias Danish, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Fatehgarh Sheeri was booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu, police informed.

Meanwhile, in Salamabad Uri, 65 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the possession of Israr Ahmad Mughal, son of Nisar Ahmad of Salamabad Uri. He has been arrested and acase registered, the spokesman said.
