True charity is not about begging for attention or pity on the internet, but about genuine acts of kindness that come from the heart, without any expectation of reward or recognition.

Internet is the space where you can show your worth, talent and all the craft that you have. This platform has been given new look with new social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. The internet has become an integral part of our daily lives and has had a profound impact on various aspects of society. It has revolutionized communication by enabling people to connect with each other across the globe. It allows for instant messaging, email, video calls and social media platforms, bringing people closer and facilitating the exchange of ideas and information.

The internet has transformed the education landscape. It offers online courses, educational resources, and virtual classrooms, making education more accessible and flexible. Students can access educational materials from anywhere in the world and engage in interactive learning experiences.

While there are several positives about the internet,  people are also seen busy in making reels as they put their common stories on social network including activities like having tea, walking, tasting different feasts etc. Is the social network really made for this kind of stuff?

There is a term called ‘Internet begging’, also known as ‘online begging’ or ‘cyber begging’ that refers to the act of soliciting money or other forms of assistance from individuals or organizations through the internet. It typically involves individuals sharing their personal stories, hardships, or financial struggles on various online platforms, such as social media, crowdfunding websites, or online forums, in the hopes of receiving financial donations or support from sympathetic individuals.

Internet begging can take different forms, including creating crowdfunding campaigns, setting up personal fundraising pages, or directly asking for donations through social media posts, emails, or private messages.

The reasons for internet begging can vary widely, ranging from medical emergencies, financial crises, educational expenses, or simply seeking help to fulfil a personal dream or goal.

The rise of social media and online crowdfunding platforms has made internet-oriented help seeking more widespread. It allows individuals to reach out to a larger audience, both locally and globally, increasing their chances of receiving financial assistance. However, it’s important to note that not all online solicitations are genuine, and there have been cases of fraudulent or misleading appeals for money.

This activity has sparked debates regarding its ethics and effectiveness. While some argue that it provides a platform for individuals to seek help in times of need, others criticize it as a form of online panhandling or exploitation. As with any form of charity giving, it’s important for individuals to exercise caution and conduct due diligence before deciding to contribute to online begging campaigns, ensuring that their donations are going to legitimate causes.

This sort of attention seeking also refers to individuals who ask for followers and likes on their social media pages. This practice has become increasingly common in the age of social media, where people seek to grow their online presence and increase their popularity.

There could be various reasons why someone engages in this behavior. Some individuals may see a high number of followers and likes as a measure of success or validation. Others might be looking to monetize their online presence through sponsorships or partnerships with brands, and having a large following can make them more attractive to potential collaborators.

However, it’s important to note that artificially inflating one’s online following through begging for likes and follows can be seen as disingenuous and may not lead to genuine engagement or meaningful connections. Building a genuine and engaged audience typically involves creating valuable content, interacting with your existing followers, and consistently providing value to your audience.

  • Rough Reels Are Demoralizing To Society As A Whole.

Creating reels in informal ways can sometimes demoralize people, depending on the context and content of the reels. Reels are short videos that are often shared on social media platforms like Instagram. While informal reels can be entertaining and lighthearted, certain types of content can have negative effects on individuals.

Comparison and self-esteem: Informal reels that showcase extravagant lifestyles, luxurious possessions, or unrealistic beauty standards can create feelings of inadequacy and lower self-esteem among viewers. Constant exposure to such content can make people feel demoralized as they compare their own lives to the idealized versions presented in the reels.

Cyberbullying and trolling: Unfortunately, the informal nature of reels can sometimes lead to cyberbullying and trolling. People may create reels with the intention of mocking or ridiculing others, which can be highly demoralizing for the targeted individuals. The negative comments and online harassment that can arise from these reels can significantly impact a person’s mental well-being.

Misrepresentation and disinformation: Informal reels can be easily manipulated and edited to present a distorted version of reality. When these reels spread misinformation, promote harmful ideologies, or misrepresent facts, they can demoralize people who rely on accurate information and seek truth. Disinformation can lead to confusion, mistrust, and demoralization among those affected.

It’s essential to be mindful of the potential impact of informal reels on individuals’ mental well-being. Content creators should strive to be responsible and considerate when sharing such content, focusing on uplifting and inspiring rather than demoralizing their audience. Likewise, social media platforms should enforce guidelines and policies that discourage harmful content and prioritize user safety.

  • Good Content Will Help Generation

The internet has become a powerful platform for sharing information, educating others, raising awareness, and promoting positive change. By creating content that serves a purpose and addresses societal needs, you can make a meaningful impact. Here are some ideas for creating good internet content that can help society:

Educational Videos and Tutorials: Create informative videos or tutorials on subjects that are valuable to your target audience. This could include educational topics, skill-building tutorials, DIY projects, or even language lessons.

Thought-Provoking Articles or Blog Posts: Write articles or blog posts that delve into important social issues, offer insights, or provide practical advice. You can cover topics like mental health, environmental sustainability, social justice, personal development, or any other area that you feel passionate about.

Inspirational and Motivational Content: Share stories of individuals who have overcome challenges or made a positive impact in their communities. Inspire others by highlighting their journeys and sharing lessons that can motivate and empower your audience.

Awareness Campaigns: Use your content to raise awareness about specific causes or issues that need attention. Create compelling videos, infographics, or social media campaigns to inform and engage people in important conversations.
