Anantnag: A two-year-old boy was mauled to death by a leopard at Check Dadoo village in Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday evening.
An official told KNO that a two-year-old boy identified as Burhan Zahoor, son of Zahoor Ahmad Khan of Check Dadoo in Sangam Bijbehara hamlet was pounced upon by a leopard near his residence.
The leopard reportedly dragged the boy into dense orchards.
Alerted by the cries, the family and locals chased the leopard and retrieved the boy in critical condition, he said.
The child was rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara where he succumbed to his injuries, he said.
