Div Com reviews arrangements for upcoming birth anniversary celebration of Guru Har Gobind Ji

SRINAGAR: To ensure a smooth celebration of the birth anniversary of Guru Har Gobind Ji Maharaj (Prakash Utsav) on 5th July, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri at conference hall Div Com Office here.

The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Gurudwara, Chatti Padshahi, and Rainawari Srinagar besides bigger functions will also be held at Singhpora and Baramulla town in Baramulla district and Shadimarg at Pulwama.

At the outset, the representatives from Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee informed about the requirements viz. parking facility, traffic plan, sanitation, electricity and water supply, etc.

The Div Com directed Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to deploy sufficient dedicated Safai Karamcharis at the venue and other Gurudawaras, besides ensuring the availability of dustbins and mobile toilets.

Power & PHE Departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted electricity and potable water supply at the venue on the given dates and to ensure that high-mast lights and other lights are functional.

Power and PHE authorities were also asked to keep dedicated Gensets and water tankers available at the venue.

Medical aid camp with Doctors, a Para-medical team, and medicines will also be set up at Chatti Padshahi, besides keeping an ambulance service on standby for the convenience of devotees in case of exigency.

Fire and Emergency services were asked to deploy a fire tender at the venue and ensure a proper audit of the hydrants.

Necessary Traffic plans en-route Chatti Padshahi will be made by the Traffic Department, besides designating adequate parking slots at Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara, Marriage Hall, and Makhdoom Sahib Rope-Way.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was asked to monitor the arrangements at Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara a day before the celebration.

The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) also briefed the chair regarding the arrangements made in their respective districts for the smooth celebration of Prakash Purab.

The Div Com directed the DCs to take meetings of concerned stakeholders and ensure smooth and hassle-free arrangements for the religious event.

DC Srinagar, SP HQ, Chief Engineer R&B, S.E KPDCL, Addl.SP traffic and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.

Besides, DCs of all districts of Kashmir attended the meeting through video conferencing.
