Jammu: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would visit Jammu on June 26 to address a ‘security conclave’ besides reviewing Jammu and Kashmir’s political scenario.

Quoting sources, KNO reported that the Union Defence Minister will arrive in the winter capital in the morning and address a ‘Security Conclave’ organized by the J&K unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party at Zorawar Singh Auditorium.

He will also visit the BJP office at Trikuta Nagar and interact with senior party leaders to discuss prevailing political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources confirmed that a visit to the BJP office to assess political situation in Jammu and Kashmir and party’s preparedness for the future elections has been added to Rajnath Singh’s one-day visit to Jammu on June 26.

Prior to the BJP meeting, Rajnath Singh will address and interact with decorated ex-servicemen, writers, journalists and other senior security experts at the first-ever Security Conclave.

Earlier, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina stated that ‘security conclave’, would be “totally a non-political event.”

He also affirmed that the party was finalising a list of dignitaries to be invited and they would include “defence experts, retired senior army officers, intellectuals, writers, media persons and think tanks from different parts of the Union Territory.”

Notably, the BJP is organising many programmes as a part of its month-long “Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan” to mark completion of nine years of Modi-government at the Centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also address the booth-level workers of the BJP across the country including Jammu and Kashmir on June 27.
