Srinagar: Girls once again had a better strike rate than boys in the Class 10 Annual Regular Examinations here, the results of which were declared on Monday, officials said.
The examinations were conducted in April. As per the results declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), 1,18,791 of 1,48,701 students enrolled for the tests have qualified.
While the overall pass percentage is 79.89, 78.23 percent of boys cleared the exams as against 81.68 percent of girls, the officials said.
“This was for the first time that the students of class X from both the UTs of J&K and Ladakh appeared together in one session under Uniform Academic Calendar 2023,” officials said.
As per these figures, around 1,48,701 students – 77,422 boys and 71,279 girls – were enrolled for the exams across Jammu and Kashmir out of which 1,18,791 students have qualified the exams. Around 29,789 students have been declared as ‘not qualified’ by JKBOSE.
Nearly, 13,823 students qualified the exam with A1 grade, 18,489 students got A2 grade, 24,147 secured B1 grade, 28,880 B2 grade, 26,248 C1 grade, 7,133 C2 grade whereas 78 students have been placed in D grade, JKBOSE informed.
The exam was conducted at 1615 centres established across the soft and hard zone areas in both the UTs.
Congratulating successful candidates, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted, “Heartiest congratulations to all the students, who have passed @jkboseofficial Class 10th Annual Regular examinations-2023. Girls have once again outshined boys, with a pass percentage of 81.68 compared to boys’ 78.23%. My best wishes to students, their parents & teachers.”
Expressing satisfaction over the entire examination process, Chairperson, JKBOSE, Professor Parikshat Singh Manhas, said students and their parents deserve great appreciation for their whole-hearted acceptance and cooperation in realizing the visionary goal of unifying the scattered academic sessions in both the union territories of J&K and Ladakh. “Those students who could not make it this time should not lose heart and try again with renewed zeal,” he added
Pertinently, the result is available online on the official website of JKBOSE www.jkbose.nic.in and Indiaresults.
The candidates can also avail SMS facility by sending the text message to 5676750 by typing jkbose10 followed by a space and Roll No. e.g., “jkbose10 Roll No.” Those who don’t have access to mobile phones or internet can get their results from their nearest JKBOSE office where the soft copies of result gazettes have been provided, officials said.
They said in case of any query regarding this result, the students are advised to avoid visiting the JKBOSE offices at Jammu/Srinagar physically. However, they can email their query at jssecrecy_jd@jkbose.co.in (for Jammu Division) and jssecrecy_kd@jkbose.co.in (for Kashmir Division) citing all the relevant details which shall be addressed after due processing at the earliest.
The aggrieved students, if any, can contact their respective schools or the nearest JKBOSE Sub/Branch office. JKBOSE provides an opportunity to the students to get a photocopy and revaluation of their answer-sheets for which they can apply online after the notification is issued in this regard, officials said.
