SIU Srinagar presents chargesheet against two ‘active terrorists’, one ‘killed terrorist’

Srinagar: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Srinagar presented chargesheet in the NIA Court Srinagar against three terrorists,” officials informed Wednesday.

They said the chargesheet was filed in connection with a case (FIR No 50/2022) registered under sections 307, 302 IPC ,7/27 IA Act 13, 16, 18, 20 & 38 UA (P) Act in Police Station Soura against two “active terrorists” and a “killed terrorist”.

In a statement, SIU while sharing details said that on May 24, 2022, unknown terrorists fired upon one police personnel — Saifullah Qadri, son of Muhammad Syed Qadri, and his minor daughter Safa Qadri at Malik Sahab Soura Srinagar, in which police personnel was killed and the minor was injured.

During the course of investigation, “three terrorists identified as Basit Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Redwani Qaimoh Kulgam, Momin Gulzar Mir, son of Gulzar Ahmed Mir, resident of Firdous Colony Eidgah Srinagar, and Adil Ahmed Parray, son of Habibullah Parray, resident of Badergund Ganderbal, were found involved in the attack,” SIU statement said.

It said a scooty (JKO2CB-1268) used in the attack was also seized.

One of the accused terrorists — Adil Ahmed Parray was killed in an encounter with police at Sangam area of Srinagar on June 12, 2022, while the other two “are still active and linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF”, SIU said.

It said the investigation of the case shall continue under section 173 (8) CrPC.
