During the meeting, the District Presidents highlighted issues being faced by the people across the valley. Besides, a threadbare discussion was also held with regard to public outreach programmes and the redressal of issues of the people.

While addressing the meeting, Majid directed the District Presidents to work among the people and educate them about the policies and programmes of the Apni Party with regard to equitable development, social security schemes, protection of land, jobs for the locals, promotion to tourism in unexplored areas and exploring opportunities in the industrial and private sector for employment, besides Govt sector.

“The people are in great distress because there is no elected Govt. To end the public woes, it is important to hold assembly elections as the elected Govt is responsible to the people whereas the bureaucrats are not answerable to the people,” he said.

“The administration should address the growing public issues at the respective districts and the issues of unscheduled power cuts need to be checked to ensure round-the-clock electricity,” he added.

“The consumers feel cheated as it was promised to them that electricity would be provided with the metering of their colonies. However, the authorities have failed to do the needful in this regard and the electricity crisis in Kashmir valley has deepened,” he said and appealed to the Govt to address the power crises.

With frequent power cuts, he said that the irrigation of farmer land, water supply system, business establishments, and the tourism industry is adversely affected.

He also asked the party cadre to gear up for the PRI and Urban Local Body elections in Jammu and Kashmir, hold public meetings, and intensify their door-to-door campaign.
