Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials informed Wednesday.
They said at Nandimarag Crossing, police intercepted two persons carrying nylon bags. Identified as Manzoor Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Samad Mir of Tengbal, Kulgam, and Mohan Singh, son of Daleep Singh, resident of Behrampora, Gurdaspur Punjab, both were arrested after 11.3 kgs of poppy straw was recovered from their possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station D H Pora and an investigation has been initiated, police said.
