Srinagar: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Anantnag Monday presented a chargesheet against a “terrorist” and a woman “terrorist associate” in NIA court in Anatnag, police said.

The chargesheet was presented against a “terrorist associate” Shaheen Akhter, daughter of Bashir Ahmad Ganai, resident of Tangward Brenti Batpora Anantnag;  and a slain “terrorist” Umer Nazir Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmad the Bhat, resident of Bon-Dailgam, linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT, police spokesman said in a statement.

He said the investigation of the case is going on under section 173(8) with regard to the technical evidence, report of which is awaited from CFSL Chandigarh.

Meanwhile, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Monday conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu region in connection with terror cases, officials said.

The searches were conducted at multiple locations in Bhatindi and Vidhata nagar in Jammu city and Mendhar border belt of Poonch district, they said.

The searches, which were aided by police, were part of an ongoing probe into cases of supporting terror activities, the officials said.
