Srinagar: DIG AP/IRP Range Jammu Nisha Nathyal, IPS, accompanied by SSP Kulbir Singh-CO IRP 18th Bn, declared the Kabadi tournament open being organized by IRP 18th Bn under CAP at Gulshan Ground Jammu.
Nisha Nathyal, IPS along with SSP Kulbir Singh-CO IRP 18th Bn interacted with the players and wished them all the best on behalf of J&K Police.
Total 08 teams viz Jammu United Club, Tanda Tiger Akhnoor, Garhi Kabaddi Club Udhampur, MA Stadium Club, Kabaddi Club Kathua, Paragwal Kabaddi Club, Conquer Kabaddi Club Vijaypur and Shaheed DBP Sports Club R.S Pura are participating in the championship with great enthusiasm.
The tournament will be played on a knock-out basis and a handsome cash reward will be given at the closing ceremony.
While speaking on the occasion, CO IRP 18th Bn said that the main objective of organizing this event is to prevent youth from falling prey to the deadly drug menace and to channelize their energy in the right direction besides bridging a gap between police and the public.
He also emphasized that now kabaddi is not only an entertaining sport but also makes a career of the people if played with enthusiasm and using the best techniques available across the nation.
