Verinag: Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Thursday alleged that BJP Govt has “crossed all limits of betrayal and misgovernance while pushing Jammu and Kashmir towards its darkest era in terms of employment, development, and various other issues including absence of democratic setup”.

“There was no development to be seen since the Modi Govt assumed power at Centre, besides all the tall claims made by it (Modi Govt) have fallen flat, still BJP claims to have transformed its poll promises into the reality, which is untrue and a move to further mislead people,” Mir alleged.

He, according to the JKPCC spokesperson, made these comments while addressing a largely attended gathering of party workers at Omoh Verinag. Mir received feedback with regard to developmental and other basic issues including joblessness concerning people.

Ghulam Ahmad Mir said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing the “worst under BJP Rule especially post-2014” when Modi Govt assumed power at the Centre. “The process of development has received setbacks, though countless claims with regard to development specially post-August 5 2019 nowhere to be seen, rather people were abandoned of their democratic rights while making them underrepresented at every forum on the part of BJP Govt,” he said.

Mir, according to the JKPCC spokesperson, lamented the fact that J&K has been “pushed towards darkness in every respect by the BJP Govt, which cannot be denied”.

“BJP has grossly indulged in vendetta politics while making false claims on all fronts, but it is set to face a humiliating defeat in the forthcoming 2024 elections, as that, people across the country are equally feeling cheated and betrayed as people of J&K,” Former JKPCC Presided added.

Mir said, “Employment has risen considerably, the irony is that no efforts are being made to create job avenues, only inaugurations of projects and tall claims occupy the front pages of newspapers aiming to build a fake narrative, which is based on lies and deceit.”

“Taking opportunity of the meeting, the Former JKPCC President appealed to people to support Congress Party in its endeavors to seek resolution of their issues, for the fact, the Congress party stands committed to the cause of serving people and safeguarding the just rights of the people, which is paramount to Party (Congress),” he said

On this occasion, the Former JKPCC President declared that as per the directions of AICC, Congress Party is going to launch a mass contact programme at the Panchayat level across J&K, shortly.

Senior Party Leaders, DCC Office bearers, Block Presidents, DDCs/BDCs, and others also addressed the meeting.
