Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials said Monday.
A police party intercepted a suspicious person at a checkpoint established at Zangam Crossing Pattan and recovered 90 grams of cannabis from his possession. Identified as Rayees Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh of Khore Sherabad Pattan, the accused has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and an investigation has been initiated, police said.
