Srinagar: Police on Monday said it has arrested four drug-peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Budgam, the house of one Abdul Hamid Mir, son of Abdul Ahad Mir of Badran, was raided and 1.8 kgs of cannabis-like substance recovered. The accused person was arrested.
In Baramulla, two drug-peddlers identified as Arbaaz Ahmad Khan, son of Riyaz Ahmad Khan of Cheradari; and Fasil Mehraj Mir, son of Mehraj Ud Din Mir of Zandfaran, were arrested in Sheeri after 100 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession, police said.
In Shopian, one Sameer Ahmad Ganie, son of Mohamad Yousf Ganie of Dhobi Mohalla Zainapora was arrested after 18.5 kgs of cannabis-like substance was recovered during a raid on his house, police informed.
Cases under relevant sections of the law were registered at respective police stations in all these instances and further investigations initiated.
