Dr Hina presides over Bankers Review Meeting of KVIB Kashmir Division

Srinagar: Dr Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice-Chairperson J&K KVIB, presided over the Bankers Review Meeting of KVIB Kashmir Division at Sanat Ghar Bemina Srinagar. 

Senior officers from the Board, Officers from participating banks, and District officers of KVIB Kashmir Division attended the said meeting.

In the meeting, it was informed that during the current financial year, Margin Money of Rs. 131.46 crores has been released by J&K KVIB for the establishment of 6000 units thereby creating employment opportunities for 46640 persons; out of which margin money of Rs. 87.00 crores for 4195 units has been released in favor of entrepreneurs of Kashmir Division while as margin money of Rs. 44.46 crores for the establishment of 1805 units has been released in Jammu Division. 

It was further informed that 42% of the total cases settled during the current financial year are of women entrepreneurs.

Vice Chairperson appreciated the role of participating banks in the successful implementation of the Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme & Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme. She however cautioned banks to refrain from rejecting cases on flimsy grounds. She lauded the RSETIs for ensuring the timely imparting of EDP training to aspirant entrepreneurs. 

Referring to a large number of cases pending at financing banks, she advised bankers to pass on directions to financing bank branches to process the cases as per timelines fixed in the guidelines. Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB impressed upon the bankers to give aspirants belonging to women & marginal sections of the society preferential treatment and process their cases on priority. 

She further reiterated the need for giving special focus to the establishment of employment generation units in urban areas of Srinagar.

She reiterated the need for synchronised efforts by implementing agencies and Banks to ensure that the benefits of employment generation programmes viz. PMEGP and JKREGP percolate to the target population.
