Dir Agri Kashmir inaugurates deep bore well at Kralchokh Zainapora Shopian

Srinagar: The Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of Shopian district and took stock of various agriculture activities in the district.

While speaking to the media person and farmer gatherings at different places, Director Agriculture said that the department is working on a robust agriculture marketing policy wherein all the efforts are made to ensure that a wide range of marketing options are available to the farmers so that they could fetch maximum returns for their produce.

The director expressed satisfaction and said, “Kashmir-based Agriculture produce commodities are now available at national and international markets. our agricultural produce is finding its place in new national and international markets and this is very encouraging.”

Dir highlighted the importance of organic cultivation during his visit to the different organic vegetable clusters at Zainpora Shopian.

 He said that “Our climate is our opportunity and under the holistic development of agriculture special focus has been shifted to explore the climatic opportunities of the region. He assured the farmers that the department is with them at every step of their journey to success.

Director Agriculture Inaugurated a community deep borewell at Kralchakh Zainpora Shopian to provide assured irrigation facilities to agriculture fields of the area.

Earlier, the Director Agriculture kick-started the distribution of seedlings of different vegetable crops at the Sumbal sub-division of Bandipora district. Interacting with the farmers’ director of agriculture said that the department is committed to providing seedlings of different agricultural crops to the farmers of the valley round the year. He marked the importance of hi-tech polyhouses in the overall development of the vegetable sector.

The Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Planning Mohammad Younis Chowdhury, Chief Agriculture Officer Shopian, Chief Agriculture Bandipora, Seed Production officer, and other senior officers of the department.
