Anganwadi workers, helpers continue strike in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 22: Anganwadi workers and helpers strike in Ganderbal entered its 101th day on Tuesday as they continue to demand increase of honorarium, regularization of service and release of pending honorarium.

One of the Anganwadi helper said, “We have to work very hard to run Anganwadi centers but the government pays us a meager salary of 1800 rupees.”

“Our honorarium should be increased to 6000 rupees. Government is yet to release our honorarium of last nine months,” she added.

President of Anganwadi and helpers union Ganderbal, Nabla Bano said, “We have been protesting from last three months. Government is turning a deaf ear to our demands.”
