Rs 486.76 cr advanced under DCP during last fiscal

BANDIPORA, MAY 21: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, Monday chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the performance of banks during 2017-18 fiscal. MLA Bandipora Usman Majid was also present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that a total amount of Rs. 486.76 crore, including Rs. 308.83 crore provided under the priority sector and Rs. 177.93 crore under the non-priority sector, has been advanced by various banks under the District Credit Plan (DCP) in the district during the last fiscal.

It was informed that J&K Bank alone has disbursed an amount of Rs. 394.15 crore amounting to about 81% of total credit disbursement in the district.

Progress of implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes, including Prime Minister’s JhanDhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Suraksha Bheema Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana, was also reviewed in the meeting.

The DDC asked the bankers and sponsoring agencies to ensure there is coordination and cohesion between them for successful implementation of schemes. He also stressed on organizing awareness programmes across the district besides disposal of pending cases of sponsorship.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA called for trouble-free sanctioning of loan to the deserving particularly the unemployed youth to help them become self-employed.

DDM NABARD, LDM, CPO besides district coordinators of all banks, government departments and other development agencies were present in the meeting.
