Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman informed Saturday.
He said a police party intercepted a car (JK01AQ-9906) driven by one Furqan Ashraf Dar, son of Mohammad Ashraf Dar of Mandibal Nowshera Srinagar, at a checkpoint established at Rangil.
During the search, contraband substance (‘Bung Patri’) was recovered from Dar’s possession. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized and a case (FIR No. 05/2023) has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation started, police said.
