Srinagar: Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday said its Economic Offences wing produced shargesheet against seven accused of duping people on the pretext of providing them jobs.

In a handout, the CBK said charge-sheet in case (FIR No.19/2015 U/S 419, 420, 120-B RPC) was presented in the Court of JMIC Ganderbal against seven persons.

The accused include Rakesh Kumar, son of Omprakash of Ward No.1 Kashmiri Mohalla, Akhnoor Jammu; Manzoor Ahmad Ganaie, son of Mohammad Subhan of Sherpora Pattan in Baramulla; Mohammad Yousuf Wani, son of Abdul Ahad, resident of Katjan Kunzer at present near Jamia Masjid Kunzer Baramulla; Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh alias Gulzar Sheikh alias Saleem Khan, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Gulshanpora Tral, at present Pamposh Colony Noorbagh Srinagar; Abdul Qayoom Sheikh, son of Abdul Rehman, resident Tukroo Shopian, at present Gatta Colony Noorbagh Srinagar; Shakeel Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Nawabadi Mohalla Safapora (SgCt IRP 20th Bn); and Abdul Hamid Bhat, son of Abdul Samad of Hardoovail Budgam, at present Ompora Budgam.

The handout stated that the case had been registered upon a receipt of a written complaint, wherein it was alleged that the accused in league with each other have dishonestly and fraudulently grabbed huge amount from the complainants on the pretext of providing the government jobs in J&K Police Department.

Preliminary verification of the matter culminated in the registration of the formal case. During subsequent investigations, it was established that all accused persons under a well-planned criminal conspiracy with each other have lured the victims on the pretext of providing jobs in the J&K Police Department and have dishonestly and fraudulently grabbed huge amounts by cheating them.

The acts committed prima facie disclosed the commission of an offence punishable U/S 419, 420, 120-B RPC and accordingly charge sheet of the case was produced in the court for judicial determination, reads the handout.
