LC Chairman reviews functioning of Council Secretariat

SRINAGAR, MAY 18: Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, today chaired a meeting here to take a detailed stock of Council Secretariat functioning.

Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat, Special Secretary, Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani besides other senior officers and officials were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, the Special Secretary gave a detailed brief to the Chairman about various meetings of different Committees held for last more than eight months and the present status of the proceedings and Council Secretariat interim reports presented from time to time.

The Chairman was apprised by the concerned authorities about problems being faced by the Council Secretariat and staff including compiling proceeding of the house, issues related to the promotion and seniority of employees of Council Secretariat besides other day-to-day requirements.

On the occasion, Haji Anayat Ali directed the officers to resolve the genuine issues being faced by the Council Secretariat and its employees. He also directed them to upgrade their skills, technical know-how so as to facilitate smooth conduct of business proceedings.

He also issued directions for conducting training programmes for the officers and officials to train them in recording, translating, and compiling of proceedings of the House as suggested by the Secretary Legislative Council.

The Chairman also directed the Council Secretariat for installation of CCTV Cameras within the premises of Council Secretariat.
