MD KPDCL chairs meeting of Officers, members of FCIK

SRINAGAR: A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Managing Director (MD) KPDCL, Yaseen. M. Choudhary, wherein senior officials of KPDCL, the President (FCIK), and other senior members of the Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FKIC) were present.

The meeting discussed Tariff Revision by JERC in detail and queries raised regarding the latest amendments in tariff were also discussed.

The FCIK members were apprised of the fact that the tariff revision has come after a period of more than 6 years and it was revised by the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC). The members of the FCIK were made aware of the fact that no changes can be made in revised tariff order, wherein the LT industries are mandated to install meters that can read KVAH readings too.

The MD, KPDCL along with the Chief Engineer (Distribution) and other senior officials of the KPDCL gave a patient hearing to the concerns of FCIK. MD KPDCL assured them that their genuine demands will be met.

During the course of the discussion, FCIK requested the top officials of KPDCL to look into their problems, wherein MD, KPDCL assured them that necessary action on replacing the damaged meters, that have developed technical snag due to the fault on the 11KV Line of Bagh Ali Mardan Khan Industrial Estate shall be done out of their own.

He said that KPDCL will take up maintenance of the transformers and relieve SICOP/SIDCO/I&C from this burden besides, KPDCL will also ensure uninterrupted power supply to organized industrial sectors and clusters.

The MD said that KPDCL will take stock of the progress of the project being executed and assured FCIK, that Power supply to new units in Khunmoh/Wuyan will be made available within one month.

The meeting was attended by the Officers and officials of KPDCL including Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL; Superintending Engineers, Circle Ist and 2nd, KPDCL; Executive Engineers of Div 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd/ 4th, KPDCL; All AEEs of concerned divisions.

On behalf of FCIK, Shahid Kamili (President-FCIK), Syed Shakeel Qalander, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Mehraj Qureshi and other senior members of FCIK were present.
