SMS(M) GDC Hyderpora organized One Day Seminar on SamvidhanDiwas

Srinagar: To mark the SamvidhanDiwas (Constitution Day) celebration, the Department of Political Science and History, SMS(M) GDC Hyderpora organized one Day Seminarunder the theme of  ‘Bharat Loktantra ki Janani’ (India-the Mother of Democracy).

A press release issued here said thatthe Principal of the College Prof. Gh. Jeelani Qureshi inaugurated the seminar with ‘Preamble Reading’ ceremony wherein he administered the oath to all the faculty members and students of the College. The oath ceremony was followed by students’ speeches wherein students highlighted the key features of Indian.

The speaker of the seminar, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Mir (Department of Political Science) delivered an extensive lecture on the idea of ‘Bharat Loktantra ki Janani’ and importance of Indian Constitution. Dr.Imtiyaz Gull, Head, Department of History, GDC Pattan, chaired the proceedings of the seminar. In his key note address, Dr Imtiyaz Gull deliberated upon the civilizational underpinnings of Indian nation and sensitized the student community about their role and responsibilities in talking this nation forward.

The press release further added that Dr. Aarif Ahmad, Department of History, hosted the whole seminar and highlighted the importance of nationalistic feelings among the student community. He emphasized that our student community should render national service by actively participating in Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav celebrations. Dr Nusrat (Department of Urdu) presented the vote of thanks to organizers and participants.
