Srinagar, May 14: With the arrest of three persons, police on Monday claimed to have solved a murder case of a 70-years-old man.
According to the police, on May 13, Police Post Imam Sahib received a written complaint from one Maqbool Bhat, resident of Handew Shopian, wherein it was stated that his septuagenarian father Ghulam Mohammad Bhat has been ruthlessly beaten by the accused persons in his house over some property dispute, resulting in injuries to him.
The injured person was referred to SMHS Hospital from District Hospital Shopian, where he succumbed to injuries.
A case (FIR no. 153/2018) was registered, and police arrested three accused persons –Yaseen Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat; Adil Bhat, son of Yaseen Bhat, and Irfan Bhat, son of Yaseen Bhat, all residents of Handew village,” police said in a statement today.
“Initial investigations reveal that the prime motive behind murder was property dispute. Further investigation of the case is going on,” the statement added.
