According to the reports, a massive gathering of devotees was witnessed at Hazratbal shirne. The officials said that over one lakh devotees thronged the shrine today.

The holy relic or ‘Moi-e-Muqqadas’, which is believed to be the hair of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was displayed after every prayer while the shrine reverberated with ‘Durood-o-Azkar’ (prayers and praises in praise of Prophet (SAW).

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is an annual celebration to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and is observed on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of Islamic lunar calendar.

Imam-e-Hi delivered the Friday sermon (Khutba) on Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and threw light on importance of the day.

Roads leading to the shrine were decorated with colorful buntings while many political and social organizations had hoisted Islamic flags atop residential houses and shops to greet the devotees on the occasion.

Huge congregations were also witnessed at Jenab Sahab Soura, Asar-e-Sharif Shahri Kalashpora, Lal Bazar, Khanqah-e-Maula, Ziarat Hazrat Dastageer Sahib at Khanyar and Saraipayeen, and at the shrines of Syed Yaqoob Sahab Sonwar, Khawaja Naqshband Sahab and Ziarat Makhdoom Sahib.

At local mosques also Friday sermons remained centered around the Prophet’s (SAW) birth and teachings.

Elaborate arrangements were put in place by the Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board for smooth gathering of devotees at Dargah Hazratbal while the Traffic police department had issued a route plan for the smooth traffic movement.
