The Lt Governor observed that the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti is a moment of contemplation for all of us to rededicate ourselves towards establishing a peaceful and harmonious society with equality and justice for all.

Mahatma Gandhi’s lifelong campaigns for the cause of the downtrodden, deprived, and oppressed sections of society and his relentless pursuit of promoting communal harmony and national integration have guided us to establish a citizen-centric governance structure that promotes social equity, social justice and ensures the well being of all, the Lt Governor added.

The Lt Governor urged the people to imbibe wisdom from Gandhiji’s thoughts and actions to realize the dream of a Swachh and Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat.

The Lt Governor also paid tributes to former Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.

The Lt Governor recalled his slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, which is still etched in the national conscience and motivates the entire nation.

His indefatigable spirit of service to humanity will continue to inspire generations. We should rededicate ourselves to Shastri Ji’s ideals and strive to translate them into action, observed the Lt Governor.
