KOKERNAG, September 27: Congress Party will emerge stronger in coming days, defections by many won’t have an impact on dedicated Congress workers, they will work hard to invigorate the Party at the grassroots level.

This was stated by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani while addressing a largely attended party workers convention at Kokernag in South Kashmir today.

JKPCC President expressed confidence that Congress will emerge stronger given the dedication and enthusiasm amongst the Party workers across J&K. Many leaders have defected and deceived Congress Party after enjoying power from time to time, their defections won’t have an impact over the Party cadres, they (cadres) will move on and fight against the conspiracies being hatched against Party.

Wani lashed out at BJP’s divisive politics blaming them for dividing people on regional, caste, and religious lines to serve dirty political ends. “People of J&K have always stood with harmony and secularism, they will continue to oppose any misadventure by BJP RSS,” he added and urged Party workers to remain steadfast to serve people and highlight their problems, as that, “it is the Congress Party alone which has served the people and it will continue to fight for safeguarding rights of people,” Wani said.

Congress Party shall continue to remain a relevant, strong, and unifying force, it will never compromise on its principle-based politics, Wani averred. “Declaring holiday on Maharaj Hari Singh’s birth and death anniversaries was a welcome step amounting to respecting the aspirations of the people, Congress party appreciates the decision wholeheartedly.”

Meanwhile, Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir said that BJP Govt cannot escape the responsibility of disrespecting Maharaj Hari Singh’s desires, decisions, and laws passed by him in the interest of J&K citizens.

“State subject laws and Special Status granted to erstwhile J&K State should also be restored as that will be the real and great tribute to Maharaj Hari Singh,” he said.

Mir made these comments while addressing a largely attended Party Workers Convention at Kokernag in South Kashmir today.

He said that Congress Party hails the decision of the Govt declaring holiday on Maharaj’s birth and death anniversaries and the long pending demand of Dogras’ have been fulfilled, at the same time.

Mir expressed surprise over the “hypocrisy” exhibited by the BJP Govt on State Subject laws granted to J&K under Art-35 A by Maharaj Hari Singh.

Mir said that Maharaja granted State Subject laws to people of J&K long before Independence thereby ensuring protection of their land, jobs, and other resources. “Similarly, at the time of signing the instrument of accession the Ruler ensured special status which was granted to erstwhile princely state comprising, J&K, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, PoK by the Indian Parliament, but sadly all these securities and privileges were withdrawn by the BJP Govt unilaterally to full fill their political agenda.”
