Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the arrest of Jamat-i-Islami Leader Bashir Ahmad Lone and Tehreek I Hurriyat Leader Muhammad Rafiq Shah Owaisee under PSA.

In a statement issued here, Malik said that arresting people for participating in funerals amounts to interference in religious affairs of Muslims.

He also condemned prolonging the detention of ailing JKLF leaders Siraj Ud din Mir and Abdul Rashid Magloo and Hurriyat Leader Mir Hafizullah.

JKLF chairman while appealing ICRC and other human rights organizations to take cognizance of his prolonged incarceration and also of the miserable condition of other Kashmiri inmates, laid emphasis on the early release of Mir Hafizullah and other deenues and said that putting people in jails on false and concocted charges should be stopped and international community should realize and  fulfil its obligations towards fellow human beings in Kashmir.
