PM Modi’s dream of providing employment to maximum people is taking shape: KVIC Chairman

PAMPORE (PULWAMA): Chairman Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Manoj Kumar today said the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide employment to the maximum people is taking shape.

He made these remarks while interacting with the Kashmiri artisans at KVIC’s Production-cum-Marketing-cum-Training Center (PMTC) here.

He maintained that KVIC is making all its efforts to provide a market and new platforms to Kashmiri artisans so that their products would be sold globally.

During his maiden visit to PMTC, the chairman was informed that since its inception the center has provided trainings in various trades like cutting & tailoring, embroidery, especially for women folk, and courses like beekeeping for giving a boost to the beekeeping in Kashmir.

On the occasion, Manoj Kumar distributed 200 electric potter wheels to the pottery artisans and 12 Hydra Pupari Machines to Paper Machie artisans. Also, he distributed 40 agarbatti machines through video conferencing to Jammu artisans.

Speaking on the occasion, KVIC Chairman shared that these artisans have undergone training at PMTC and these improved implements will help them to reduce drudgery in their work and will make them self-reliant.

While interacting with the artisans, he motivated them to work diligently and assured them that KVIC is ready to extend all the possible help.

Earlier, Manoj Kumar also inaugurated Mahatma Gandhi Park and Mahatma Gandhi Pavillion. The chairman also inspected the photo exhibition showcasing the life of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi including his non-violence struggle.

The chairman also witnessed a live demonstration of artisans including pottery, willow wicker, Paper Machie, etc.

On the occasion, a short film about the journey of PMTC was also played.

He also distributed Certificates among the Self Help Groups for successfully completing their training course at the center.

Among others present during the occasion were Deputy CEO (North Zone) KVIC, JK Gupta; Director Publicity KVIC, Sanjeev Poswal; State Director J&K KVIC, SP Khandelwal and Principal PMTC KVIC, Pampore, Anil Kumar Sharma.

The KVIC Chairman also held a meeting with representatives of Khadi Institutions of Kashmir valley.
