Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that amid our unique agro-climatic conditions we are able to produce a wide range of agricultural crops including vegetables and this gives farmers an edge over the farmers of the rest of the country.

He said our season for vegetable production is on when it is off-season for the rest of the country and this gave us the opportunity, to export our fresh vegetables to other states of that country and earn more returns for our produce.

Director Agriculture instructed CAO Budgam and SDAO Chadoora to chalk out a modus operandi for the operation of installed community-based bore wells for irrigated farmer’s fields in a phased manner. He asked the concerned officers to work in close coordination with the farmers and agri-enterpreneur’s of the concerned area and make sure that every latest intervention reaches the farmer, and is adopted and implemented by the farmers successfully.

Later, the Director visited different villages including wathoora, Bugam, etc, and interacted with the farming community of the area. He assured farmers of every possible technical support from the department for their successful agriculture operations.
