Agri Deptt successful in curbing menace of spurious pesticides to a large extent: Chowdhary Iqbal

BARAMULLA: The Director Agriculture Kashmir (Controller Insecticides), Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, today took stock of the supply/stock position of different insecticides, pesticides, and fertilizers during an interactive meeting with the Insecticide, pesticide, fertilizer dealers, concerned officers of the department and other stakeholders at Dak Bangalow here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director appreciated the efforts by the concerned wing of the department for their role to prevent the movement of spurious and non-standard insecticides, pesticides, and fertilizers into the valley.

He said serving the interests of the farming community is our top priority and by successfully curbing the menace of spurious pesticides, fertilizers in the valley, we are actually ensuring the financial security of our farming community to a very large extent.

Director was apprised by the concerned officers and the representatives of the insecticides, pesticides, fertilizer companies regarding the stock and supply position of different inputs (insecticides, pesticides, fertilizers). A number of related issues were also discussed during the meeting.

Earlier, the Director visited Agriculture Engineering Workshop Sangrama Sopore and took stock of the manufacturing of different agricultural implements, the quality of material being used, and other related activities. He interacted with the staff of the workshop and impressed upon the concerned to ensure that quality material is used during the manufacturing of different implements.
