J&K reports 57 new COVID-19 cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 57 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking its tally to 4,77,513, officials said.

Of the new cases, 46 were reported from the Kashmir Valley and 11 from the Jammu division, they said.

Providing district-wise breakup for these positive cases, the officials informed that in Kashmir division, Srinagar reported 14 cases, Baramulla reported six cases, Budgam and Pulwama reported five cases each, while Kupwara, Kulgam and Bandipora reported two cases each.

Similarly in Jammu division, Jammu district reported nine cases, Udhampur and Rajouri one case each while no other district reported any fresh cases.

The death toll of the union territory stands at 4,782. So far the disease has claimed 2,432 lives in Kashmir while 2,350 persons have succumbed in Jammu division.

Currently there are 1,320 active cases of the disease in the union territory 1,032 in Kashmir and 288 in Jammu division.

The total number of recoveries stand at 4,71,411, they added. This also includes 286 persons — 237 in Kashmir and 49 in Jammu — who were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours after their recuperation.

The officials also informed that 22,832 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across Jammu and Kashmir bringing the cumulative number of doses administered till date to 2,42,66,169.
