Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference Senior Vice President and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today hit out at the NC and PDP for inviting Shiv Sena to the All Party meet, a party which termed August 5 as a historic day and celebrated the disempowerment of the people of J&K by distributing sweets.

Vakil while addressing a party workers convention at Mazbugh and Amargarh in Sopore said that the NC and PDP must explain the logic of inviting a party that has been a flag bearer of Hindutva since its inception and ideologically mirrors the BJP.

“How can a party, which espouses turning a secular and democratic India into a Hindu Rashtra, be allowed the space to project themselves as the new savior of Kashmiris? Isn’t it shameful that NC and PDP chose to invite a party that termed August 5, a day of disempowerment for the people of J&K, as a historic day?” he asked.

While addressing the gathering, Vakil also demanded a comprehensive employment package for the youth of J&K. He said that the present ruling dispensation has dashed the hopes of aspiring youths when it comes to providing employment opportunities to them. He said every recruitment process of the present administration has been questioned by the people for their “non-transparency” and the recent recruitment of Sub-Inspector and Finance Accounts Assistants are glaring examples in this regard.
