Secretary H&ME reviews progress on implementation AB-PM-JAY SEHAT scheme across J&K

SRINAGAR: Secretary Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Bhupinder Kumar, today chaired a meeting to review the progress on the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY SEHAT scheme across J&K.

During the meeting, the Secretary stressed different interventions to bring more accountability and transparency in the implementation of the scheme and ensure a robust anti-fraud mechanism. “We must have a foolproof system in place to deal with malpractices if any and give exemplary punishment to those private empanelled hospitals who misuse the scheme and do fraudulent activities in contravention to the guidelines of the scheme. If required de-empanelment of such hospitals may also be done,” Bhupinder said.

He added that SHA should strengthen the audit capacity of the State Anti-Fraud Unit and train more resources in the audit of medical claims and SHA should also take prompt action on the issues raised by the insurance companies.

The Secretary also stressed on implementation of a regular feedback mechanism from beneficiaries of the Sehat scheme. He also appreciated the CEO SHA for covering 86% of families in J&K and called for saturation of 100% target as per the set timeframe. 

At the onset of the meeting, Chief Executive Officer SHA, Ayushi Sudan presented a detailed account of the status of the scheme and outcomes of different interventions.

The meeting among others was attended by Director Finance H&ME Department, State nodal officer, SHA, State grievance nodal officer, others officials of SHA and representatives of Insurance company IFFCO TOKIO.
