Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir logged 140 fresh positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, officials said Wednesday.
They said 96 of the4se cases were reported from Jammu division and 44 from Kashmir — taking the total number of positive cases reported thus far in J&K to 4,56,291.
Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases for today, they informed that Jammu reported 74 cases, Srinagar reported 41 cases, Udhampur reported 11 cases, Doda reported four cases, Rajouri reported three cases, Kathua, Ganderbal and Samba reported two cases each, and Kulgam reported one case while no other district reported any fresh case.
They said 109 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 62 from Jammu division and 47 from Kashmir, in the last 24 hours.
According to the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus, out of 4,56,291 positive cases reported cumulatively in J&K so far, currently there are 769 active positive cases in the UT, including 466 in Jammu division and 303 in Kashmir. So far 4,50,764 persons have recovered and 4,758 have died – 2,425 in Kashmir and 2,333 in Jammu division.
