J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir made these comments while addressing a largely attended party workers meeting at Verinag in south Kashmir on Saturday in which prominent leaders, members of Anantnag DCC and Former Legislators participated and vowed to serve the party to the best of their ability.

Addressing the meeting, Ghulam Ahmad Mir said Congress Party won’t be cowed down by the vendetta politics of BJP, rather it will get further strengthened and urged the Party workers to gear up for the upcoming challenges.

Referring to the current situation in J&K Mir said people have realized that they are being forced to face worst unnecessarily on account of rising unemployment, inflation and various other developmental issues resulting in they are feeling disappointed given the failures of Centre & State Govt on all fronts.

Mir said that BJP Govt is making all-out efforts to target and weaken Congress to hide its failures, but their attempts are being thwarted in the strongest terms. “Congress Party enjoys trust and confidence of the people given its pro-people policies, it will continue to fight against the undemocratic and anti-people measures of the BJP Govt,” he said.

Centre Govt is shying away from the democratic process, and doesn’t allow elections to happen in J&K because it has realized that people are fed up and feeling disappointed with BJP’s anti-people policies, Mir added.

JKPCC President also slammed tall claims of Centre & State Govt with regard to peace and development post-August 5 2019 decision whilst nothing is visible on the ground, which is the reason behind delaying the democratic process in J&K with the result people are worst hit in absence of the popular Govt.

Mir said the Bureaucratic rule has never been an alternative to the democratically elected Govt, unfortunately, Centre Govt in order to cover its failures is scuttling the democratic process in J&K.

JKPCC President cautioned Party workers about the designs of BJP, which is hellbent upon dividing people on religious and regional lines aiming to get benefitted politically.

On this occasion, Mir told the workers that Party is supreme every party leader and worker should feel bound to strengthen it further and serve the people.

Former Legislator & Anantnag DCC President Gulzar Ahmad Wani told the party workers that Congress Party has never compromised on its principles, never bowed before falsehood and vendetta politics of BJP and its offshoots, it is committed to fighting against divisive and anti-people measures of BJP. Wani urged the party workers to get united to overcome the challenges, ahead.

Those who addressed included Working DCC President Ali Mohd Mantoo, Secretary PCC Mohd Iqbal Mir, Mohd Saleem Ganie Block President Kokernag, Gh. Hassan Bhat, Master Abdul Gani, Shabir Ahmad DDC Shahabad, Akhter Kasana DDC Hiller, Shakeela BDC Chairman, Sheikh Prince President MC Kokernag, Prominent workers, frontal organizations and others.
