Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally climbed to 4,55,183 on Friday with 94 fresh cases, while no new deaths were reported, officials here said.

The death toll stands at 4,756, they said.

Of the fresh cases, 62 cases were reported from the Jammu division of the union territory and 32 from the Kashmir valley, the officials said.

There are 545 active COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir. So far, 4,49,882 people have recovered from the disease, they said.

Providing district-wise breakup of fresh cases, the officials said that Jammu district reported 51 cases; Srinagar 19; Kupwara 13; Rajouri 02; Kathua 03; Samba 04; while as Udhampur and Ramban districts reported 01 case each.

They further said that 8,004 doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,32,97,914.

Active Covid cases rise to 1,07,189 in country

India added 17,070 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,34,69,234, while the active cases increased to 1,07,189, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

The death toll climbed to 5,25,139 with 23 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.25 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.55 per cent, the ministry said.

An increase of 2,634 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
