“Governments move to close down decade’s old schools came as a shocker for all of us having assembled here. Students as usual left home to attend the school this morning, but were shocked to know that the school management on the directions of administration has closed the school,” a group of parents protesting outside the school told reporters.

They alleged that the school management did not inform them well in advance, nor did the government hesitate to put the future of hundreds of students studying at Islamic Model High School at stake.

Basit, a student, said the administration before issuing any such directions to the school management should have admitted them in any other school.

“Don’t know what to do as school has been closed and we don’t find any alternative at the moment. My father deposited a one month fee in advance but the sudden move shook us to the core,” he added.

The protesting parents appealed to the government to either rollback the decision or ensure students are admitted in some other schools as their first term exams are about to begin.

“We are confused, we appeal to the Lieutenant Governor to save the future of hundreds of students from getting ruined. Since first term exams of students are about to begin, our hand folded request to the administration is to make sure the future of our children is not spoiled,” the parents said.
