Second edition of Cycle Strike Race organized from Rizvi Stop Magam to Gulmarg

Srinagar: On the eve of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the second edition of Cycle Strike Race was today organized from Rizvi Stop Magam to Gulmarg at an altitude of 8,700 feet above sea level.

Around 100 local cyclists including National and International participated in the race.

Syed Ali Asgar Razvi, a well-know businessman and  a young social activist from the Valley, has taken a unique initiative to organize the second edition of Cycle Strike Race. The aim of this race is to keep the youth away from drugs and other crimes and attract them towards sports.

The race started from Rizvi Staff Magam Budgam and ended at the tourist destination Gulmarg Baramulla.

Around 100 cyclists, including national and international cyclists, took part in 30-kilometer race. 50-year-old Basharat Hussain also took part in the race. On this occassion, a fitness trainer, Imtiyaz Dar, gave fitness tips to these participates

Syed Ali Asgar Razvi said: “The aim of today’s event was to keep the younger generation away from drugs and other crimes, and we are trying to involve more and more people in sports events.”

Transport Commissioner Kashmir Bhupinder Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Ghulam Jilani Zargar, Managing Director, Gulmarg Gondola and Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority, President of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other officers were also present.

Bhupinder Kumar said that the youth of Kashmir have a lot of potentials, he also said that there is a need of society to channelize the energy of the youth in the right directions.
