The spokesman said that two Chinese Pistols with 18 live rounds and 2 magazines were recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile, security forces have arrested a “hybrid terrorists” and his associate from Budgam district, Police said on Friday.

“The hybrid terrorist and a terrorist associate are linked with LeT,” a police spokesman said.

“Acting on specific information, police along with troops of 62RR and 43Bn CRPF arrested one hybrid terrorist and a terrorist associate linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT,” a police spokesman said.

The arrested “hybrid terrorist” has been identified as Mudabir Ajaz, son of Ajaz Ahmed Rather, resident of Gulshanabad Hyderpora, and the “terrorist associate” has been identified as Syed Muntaha Mehraj, son of Syed Mehrajuddin, resident of New Colony Ompora,” the spokesman said.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested duo was involved in providing transportation and logistic support to the LeT terrorists besides, transportation of arms and ammunition across the district Budgam,” he added.

He said that incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one Chinese grenade and 35 AK rounds have been recovered from their possession.

“Hybrid terrorist” is a term coined by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir to describe those militants who carry out a subversive task assigned to them by their handlers before slipping back into normal life.

They are activated by the handlers on need basis, a tactic that helps them to evade the radar of security forces for little longer than those who join the ranks full time.
