Kupwara’s citizen soldiers construct bridge at Dardsun Warsun

Srinagar: As part of initiatives undertaken to improve daily lives of marginalized sections of locals and students from far flung villages, Indian Army constructed a bridge connecting the Govt High School, Dardsun to the main Warsun road.

“Locals from Dardsun which comes under Kralpora tehsil of district Kupwara had approached Indian Army for assistance in improving the connectivity between Dardsun and main road to ease the commute of school children and elders who had to take a long detour to reach the school,” said PRO (Defence) Srinagar.

“The Indian Army undertook a Project to construct the bridge to provide direct access to the school thereby facilitating easy and fast movement of villagers,” the PRO said.

“The bridge was inaugurated by the Sarpanch of Dardsun Mushtaq Ahmad Mir in presence of residents from both villages. The residents of the villages, teachers and parents of children appreciated the efforts of the army and thanked them for their assistance. The Indian Army is committed to the welfare and development of the people of Kupwara and is always in the forefront of such initiatives,” he said.
