SAMBA, MAY 07: Kaushal Vikas Mela cum Rozgar Mela was held under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana here today at GKITR Centre.

Deputy Commissioner, S. Rajinder Singh Tara attended the event, organised by G.K institute of training & research for the local unemployed youth.

The DC gave away the kits, certificates and cheques to the placed youth.

He motivated the youth to adopt entrepreneurship as a career and appreciated the role played by GKITR in supporting placement to the candidates. He also stressed upon the role of CII and industries in placing the candidates in samba industrial area and other local establishments. He applauded the efforts of GK educational trust under PMKVY scheme for skilling youth in Jammu and Kashmir.

GKITR has trained more than 100 candidates under SC/ST and OBC under BADP and SC/ST programme of the District.

To give boost to the employment base of the state, the focus of the programme is to aware youth regarding various opportunities under the Skill India Programme.

Director GKITR Gourav Khajuria presented vote of thanks. He expressed gratitude to DC Samba,   member of CII Jaspal Singh and state head CII, Vivek Bhardwaj for gracing the occasion and making the event successful.
