JKSSB PSI Result: Aspirants allege irregularities, stage protest, demand probe
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Jammu: Alleging gross irregularities in Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board’s (JKSSB’s) Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) result, a large number of aspirants, who appeared in the examination held on March 27, staged a protest demonstration here today outside the Press Club of Jammu.

Scores of candidates gathered to lodge their protest following allegations of rigging in the recruitment of 1200 posts of SIs in Jammu and Kashmir Police surfaced on various social media platforms.

The protesters raised slogans against the JKSSB and alleged that malpractices marred the examination. They raised the demand for intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in this matter and a high level inquiry to be conducted.

Terming the result as ‘fraud’, the protesting candidates demanded a fair probe into the suspected abnormalities in it, adding that till then the selection process for 1200 SI posts should be kept on hold.

They said that if any discrepancy is found during the investigation, JKSSB should re-conduct the written exam and if there is fairness in the result then the process should be taken to its logical conclusion.

Several aspirants alleged that siblings belonging to as many as 27 families have qualified the exam which is bizarre, adding that such weird things have forced a large number of candidates to raise questions on the credibility of JK Police Recruitment exam.

“Not only were there names of two successful candidates from the same family but there are also a large number of such aspirants who are already serving the police department. Moreover, there were as many as 60 successful candidates, whose marks were more than 120 and who made their preparations for the exam in the same library located in Akhnoor. This is not a coincidence, certainly some foul play,” maintained a protesting aspirant.

The protesting aspirants said that among the candidates whose marks are between 130 to 140 in the SI exam have managed to score just 30 to 40 marks in other examinations held for the posts like Accounts Assistant (Panchayat) and Accounts Assistants (Finance) conducted very recently.

Protesters say that all such strange pointers are indicating that either the question paper was leaked or there had been massive rigging in the examination, adding that the government must order an investigation into the matter by CBI or ACB.

The JKSSB had conducted the written examination for 1200 posts of Sub Inspectors on March 27, the result of which was declared on June 4. However, a few days after the result, questions are being raised on the marks obtained by some of the candidates through the viral posts in the social media.
