Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board condoles demise of Pt. Bhajan Sopori

SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor of J&K and Chairman, SASB, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Nitishwar Kumar expressed their grief with heartfelt condolence on the sad demise of Pandit Bhajan Sopori, who was also a former member of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

A Condolence meeting was held in the office of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and a two-minute silence was observed in the memory of the Santoor Legend.  All the staff members prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family.

The Chairman, SASB in his condolence message said, “Pandit Bhajan Sopori was one of the most celebrated exponents of Santoor in the country. His masterly performances were appreciated by the connoisseurs of music in India and abroad. I had many occasions to interact with Pandit Ji and found him deeply committed towards the well-being and development of UT of J&K.”

“He played an important role as a member of SASB in suggesting many innovative ideas for making the Yatra more and more Pilgrim friendly, popular and hassle-free. The void caused by his death would be hard to fill,” he added.
