Targeted killings a ploy by Pakistan to ‘defame’ majority community in Kashmir: BJP
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday blamed Pakistan for targeted killings of people from minority community in the valley with the sole objective to ‘defame’ majority community in India and world over.
Admitting targeted killings of minority community members as a major cause of concern for security establishment and the society, the party accused the neighboring country of creating an atmosphere for Kashmiri people to be accused as the supporters of violence.
Addressing a press conference at BJP head office here, the party state spokesman, Altaf Thakur while condemning the killings at the hands of ‘hybrid terrorists’, said such acts are aimed at creating an atmosphere of hostility in the valley.
“The sole objective of Pakistan, which seemingly could not absorb peace and development in the valley, is to defame majority community in India and world over,” said Thakur.
Thakur also lashed out at opposition parties including the Gupkar Alliance for allegedly glorifying terrorists and their violent acts. He said an endless peace will prevail in Kashmir once opposition parties stop participating and shedding crocodile tears on the funerals of terrorists.
“Targeted killing is a cause of concern for both the security establishment and the society as well, we admit. But a common Kashmiri has never been in favor of violence instead people here want to live a peaceful life and want the ethos of age-old communal brotherhood to be maintained at any cost,” he added.
