Amit Sharma said that J&K Minerals is doing commendable work over the last few years especially regarding extraction of coal from Kalakote Mines and gypsum from Parlanka Mines which has raised good income for the Corporation besides helping to clear lot of pending dues for employees of the Corporation.

It was informed during the meeting that J&K Minerals Corporation is actively extracting precious gem Sapphire from Padder (Kishtwar hills) during activity season spanning over 3-4 months during summers every year.

Secretary directed the officers to organise a grand Global Auction event for Sapphire sale so that this rare gem discovered on the hills of J&K can fetch the best sale proceeds through it.

GM J&K Minerals requested for allotment of few more Minor Mineral Blocks by the government as per last board meeting decision which can help in adjusting Kalakote Coal Mine workers in such blocks, as the work of mining has reduced substantially in Coal Mines due to a lot of coal extraction taking place continuously over the last few years.

Amit Sharma directed MD J&K Minerals to introduce maximum technological interventions for bringing added efficiency in operations of the Corporation leading towards total transparency and best outcomes. He assured that Government will support all positive steps being taken for taking this oldest Corporation of J&K to new heights.
